Grapefruit and Diet

The Grapefruit Diet is temporary. It should only be done as a means to lose weight in one short period of term as opposed to throughout life. You can lose a lot of weight with the Grapefruit Diet, but it is more for motivation and to promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Some things to be aware of with the Grapefruit diet are the following:

-Drink plenty of water. Keep yourself hydrated.

-Make sure to increase your intake of meat, salads or other various vegetables. This is important so that you maintain the nutritious balance you need to remain healthy.

-Do not make any drastic switches. Stay consistent with the amount of grapefruit and juice you take each take so that your body can get used to and react appropriately.

-Stay away from desserts and other refined sugars as much as possible.

-Try not to eat between meals. You should not get too hungry with this diet.

-It is generally advised to stay on the diet for 12 days and then stop for 2 days and then repeat for 2 ½ months. Once again, this is only temporary. Do not do this for long periods of time!

-Make sure you are getting enough calories.

Follow these rules above and you should be ready to go.

Grapefruit Diet Menu

Are you ready to try out the Grapefruit Diet? Are you aware of the possible risks and willing to be consistent and follow common sense? Good! Now that you are ready to get started and are motivated to lead a healthy lifestyle, here are is the diet menu generally required for the Grapefruit Diet:

Diet Plan (Remember to stay consistent!)

Grapefruit Diet Morning Items:

-          two eggs (any style you prefer)

-          two slices of bacon

-          one half grapefruit or juice without sugar

Grapefruit Diet Afternoon Items:

-          one half grapefruit or juice without sugar

-          salad (any dressing is fine here)

-          this is where you get healthy meat or fish, which can be cooked however you want

-          one cup of coffee or tea

Grapefruit Diet Dinner items:

-          one half grapefruit or juice without sugar

-          salad (get some vegetables cooked in butter or spices, preferably green or red)

-          meat and fish again, cooked however you choose

-          another cup of coffee or tea

Grapefruit Late time Snack:

-          one glass of skim milk

That’s it! Doesn’t look intimidating does it? Make sure to stay consistent with grapefruit servings and to watch your diet by adding various nutrition components like proteins.

Grapefruit and Egg Diet

The Grapefruit and Egg Diet is basically the same as the other diet. It is like many fad diets in that it works fine for a short period of time, but you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle afterward. It is called the Grapefruit and Egg Diet because it involves eating eggs and grapefruit with your morning and afternoon meals.

For your breakfast, you can also eat a slice of whole wheat toast, one egg that is prepared however you choose (without fat added) and then the usually one single cup of coffee.

In this Grapefruit diet, for lunch you want a salad with mixed greens and then add some oil or dressing. You can take a single cup of coffee or tea with this meal as well. Remember to add the half grapefruit!

For dinner during this Grapefruit diet, you want to include the healthy meat, cooked any way you want. Also include a salad with mixed greens and plenty of other vegetables. Don’t forget the half grapefruit!

After you go through with this grapefruit and egg diet, as long as you are consistent, you should see results quickly. However, only do it temporarily, and then let this encourage you to live a healthy lifestyle and maintain balanced nutrition going forward.
