The Grapefruit Diet is temporary. It should only be done as a means to lose weight in one short period of term as opposed to throughout life. You can lose a lot of weight with the Grapefruit Diet, but it is more for motivation and to promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Some things to be aware of with the Grapefruit diet are the following:
-Drink plenty of water. Keep yourself hydrated.
-Make sure to increase your intake of meat, salads or other various vegetables. This is important so that you maintain the nutritious balance you need to remain healthy.
-Do not make any drastic switches. Stay consistent with the amount of grapefruit and juice you take each take so that your body can get used to and react appropriately.
-Stay away from desserts and other refined sugars as much as possible.
-Try not to eat between meals. You should not get too hungry with this diet.
-It is generally advised to stay on the diet for 12 days and then stop for 2 days and then repeat for 2 ½ months. Once again, this is only temporary. Do not do this for long periods of time!
-Make sure you are getting enough calories.
Follow these rules above and you should be ready to go.
